The year was 1982. A young couple, brimming with dreams, stood at the altar, their hearts filled with a shared vision: to own and operate a farm. Life, however, had other plans. The demands of of our careers as public servants in bustling Suffolk County, New York, pushed our idyllic dream further and further into the horizon. Yet, the seed of hope remained, nurtured by our unwavering commitment.
Years turned into decades, and we diligently saved every penny, our shared dream a beacon guiding us and eventually our children through the long, arduous journey. Finally, in 2003, our perseverance bore fruit. We purchased an abandoned farm nestled amidst the serene beauty of Central New York, a canvas upon which we would paint our own unique agricultural masterpiece.
The reclamation began. With little more than our own hands a pretty beat up old tractor and unwavering determination, we began to breathe life back into the dormant land.
In 2015, a comforting buzz filled the air as we established an apiary, a testament to the delicate balance of nature we sought to uphold. But our ambitions extended beyond honey. We embarked on a journey to raise grass-fed, grass-finished beef, a commitment to provide the highest quality, most ethically sourced food we could imagine.
Our animals graze freely on a diet of native grasses, apples from the old orchards, wild blackberries and wild blueberries untouched by the introduction of genetically modified organisms. Surrounded by the vast expanse of a state park, our idyllic farm became a sanctuary for both the animals and the land. No vaccines, no harsh chemicals, only the gentle touch of nature guided our rotational grazing practices and the odd nuzzle rub. The cows are treated with the utmost respect, their calves born in the spring when the grass is lush, nurtured by their mothers' milk until the natural weaning process unfolds.
Organically managed, non-GMO, regenerative farming practices are the cornerstone of our philosophy. We recognize the interconnectedness of the land, the animals, and ourselves striving to create a harmonious ecosystem where all could thrive. Our farm is not just a business; it is a testament to our unwavering belief in a sustainable, ethical, and truly humane approach to agriculture.
Our story emphasizes our dedication, the challenges we overcame, and our commitment to ethical and sustainable farming practices. This highlights the beauty of our farm and the unique qualities of our products which we are now Blessed to share with grandchildren.
